Queen's Domain Update: 1.01.03 Patch Notes Explained

Every Queen's Domain patch since launch: 1.01.01, 1.01.02 and 1.01.03 fix lists, how to update on Steam, and what is still unannounced.

Last Updated: 2026-11-05

Queen's Domain launched on October 30, 2026, and Freshly Baked Games shipped three patches in the first three days. The current PC build is 1.01.03, published on November 1. This page collects the official fix lists in one place, explains what each patch actually changes in play, and separates confirmed fixes from things the developers have not announced.

The short version

1.01.01 fixed launch-day soft locks, including the Pit of Despair and the Executioner door. 1.01.02 added a DirectX 12 launch option and fixed the Dagoom the Sea King death bug. 1.01.03 cleaned up hitboxes, XP and resource generation, regen on one enemy, and stability. No balance pass has been announced.

Queen's Domain 1.01.03 patch notes (November 1)

The November 1 patch is the smallest of the three on paper, but it touches systems that affect every run:

  • Ground wave projectiles: hitbox adjusted so the wave hits more reliably. The same line appears in 1.01.02, which means the first attempt did not fully land.
  • Hempie SVT: fixed XP and resource generation.
  • B33 punch: fixed regeneration.
  • Stability improvements: general crash and stability work, with no specific scenario named.
  • Dagoom the Sea King: fixed the death animation.

If you fought Dagoom before this patch and saw the boss freeze or play the wrong animation on death, 1.01.03 is the build that addresses it. If you were farming Hempie SVT for XP or resources, the previous build was not giving the intended amounts.

Queen's Domain 1.01.02 patch notes (October 31)

The second patch is the most substantial of the launch window:

  • DirectX 12 launch option: added as a selectable launch path on PC.
  • Dagoom the Sea King: fixed a bug where the boss could die while spinning.
  • Stuck spots: fixed several places where the player could get stuck.
  • Ground wave projectiles: first hitbox adjustment.
  • Accessory stats: fixed a bug where accessory stats were wrong after loading a save.
  • Black Skeletal Witch Husipo: fixed the boss fight trigger.

The accessory fix matters more than it looks. A stat error on load can quietly change your damage, stamina or defense for an entire session, and it is the kind of bug that makes players blame their build instead of the game. If you loaded an old save and felt weaker than you should have been, this is the likely cause.

The Husipo trigger fix is also worth noting for completionists: a boss that does not start its fight is a hard progression block, not a cosmetic bug.

Queen's Domain 1.01.01 patch notes (October 31)

The first patch went live one day after launch and targeted the worst launch-state failures:

  • Pit of Despair: fixed a soft lock.
  • Weapon evolution: fixed a freeze when weapons evolve.
  • Executioner door: fixed the door getting stuck.
  • Mimic: fixed a freeze bug.
  • Neasied water return pits: fixed missing return pits around Neasied.
  • Star Lizard bags: fixed bags dropping and getting stuck in mid-air.

The weapon evolution freeze is the headline. Evolution is a core progression moment, and a freeze at that point can cost progress if the game has not autosaved. The missing water return pits around Neasied are a softer failure but an annoying one: falling into water in an area without a return pit can strand you or force a reload.

How to update Queen's Domain on Steam

Steam normally downloads the patch automatically. If your build still behaves like the launch version, check the download queue first: the patch is small and can finish before the client shows a notification. Restarting Steam forces a check if the queue looks empty.

The official patch notes do not describe an in-game version readout, so the practical check is the Steam client rather than a menu screen. If you are on a Steam Deck, the same update applies; the game is Steam Deck Verified, and patches arrive through the same Steam client.

Console versions are a separate question. Freshly Baked Games has announced Switch 2, Xbox Series and PS5 versions, but the patch notes are published on the Steam news hub and do not give console patch timing. Treat any console patch date you see outside an official channel as unconfirmed.

What the updates do not change

None of the three patch notes lists a balance pass, a difficulty change, an enemy damage adjustment or a progression rework. The fixes are technical: soft locks, triggers, hitboxes, stats on load and stability. If you are waiting for a weapon or boss balance patch, the official notes do not contain one yet.

There is also no published roadmap for performance work, additional content or console release dates. The developers have confirmed the console platforms, not a schedule. That is not a gap in this article; it is the current state of the official information.

Why the patch cadence matters

Three patches in three days is a normal launch-week rhythm for a two-person team, and the content tells you where the risk sits. The launch build had progression blockers, not just crashes: a soft lock in the Pit of Despair, a stuck Executioner door and a boss trigger that could fail. Those are the bugs that generate refunds, and they were addressed first.

The second wave is cleanup: a DX12 option, stuck geometry, stat loading and a repeated hitbox fix. The third wave is stability and small system corrections. That ordering is a useful signal for players returning after a break: the game you play now is not the launch build, and the most serious blockers have official fixes.

If you are starting fresh, the beginner guide covers the systems that have not changed, and the release date page tracks the launch timeline. For platform details, see the PS5 page.
