Queen's Domain Library Guide: Wourha, Scrolls and the Archive Key
Queen's Domain library walkthrough: where it is, how to talk to Wourha twice, which scrolls to read and why the archive thread gates the shrine key.
The short answer: climb to the library above the courtyard's first monument, talk to Knowledge Keeper Wourha twice, read the scrolls on the upper shelves, check the back room, then talk to her again. The library is the first half of the shrine key chain, not optional lore.
Most players find the library, decide it is a quiet lore room, and leave after one conversation. That is the mistake the beginner guide calls out directly: skip the library and the burial area becomes a key hunt with no instructions.

Where the library is
The library sits above the temple courtyards, above the first monument. The map guide gives the simplest landmark test in the game: if you are climbing stairs and the walls turn into bookshelves, you are close.
Route from the courtyard:
- Enter the temple courtyards and find the first crystal monument.
- Climb the stairs past the monument.
- Follow the bookshelves instead of the open-air path.
- The main reading room opens onto the upper shelves and the archive door.
The library is a low-risk region. There is no boss and no one-way drop. The danger is walking out before you have finished the thread.
The courtyard tower's upper platform can glide to the library's outer ledge. The map guide lists it as one of the island's three vertical shortcuts. It skips the courtyard loop once you have enough Endu distance, but it is not required for a first visit.
Wourha: talk twice
Knowledge Keeper Wourha is the NPC who turns the library from scenery into progression.
- First conversation: she recognises you as a prince of the Abraon family.
- Second conversation: she adds the detail about "that knight" and the forbidden archives.
The second prompt is the one players miss. The demo secrets guide notes that the related achievement is easy to miss if you leave after the first prompt. The walkthrough puts it the same way: the second conversation adds the detail that sends you to the forbidden archives.
Talk until the dialogue repeats. Then read.
What to read and collect
The library has three jobs, and they are easy to do in the wrong order.
| Step | What to do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Talk to Wourha once | Establishes the Abraon connection |
| 2 | Talk to Wourha again | Unlocks the "that knight" / forbidden archives thread |
| 3 | Read the scrolls on the upper shelves | At least one describes the burial area's locking logic in plain language |
| 4 | Check the back room | Contains a chest and the archive thread's reward |
| 5 | Return to Wourha | Completes the conversation chain |
The upper-shelf scrolls are the part that changes the burial area. Without them, the diamond slot and the tombstone puzzle look like guesswork. With them, they are a puzzle you can solve.
The back room is also easy to miss because the main reading room is bright and the back room is not. Check it before you leave.
Why the library gates the shrine key
The library thread is the first half of the shrine key chain. The demo secrets guide states it plainly: the library is a gate, not a side room, and the archive thread is part of the key chain.
That has two consequences:
- You cannot cleanly finish the burial area without it. The walkthrough warns that the demo will let you leave, but the shrine key chain will not progress cleanly without the archive thread.
- The boss route assumes you understand the burial area's locking logic. The scrolls are how the game teaches that logic.
If you are already in the burial area and stuck, walk back up. The library does not lock behind you.
The library roof route
The library's outer ledge connects to the courtyard tower glide. That makes the library a useful vertical hub even after its quest thread is done:
- Tower → library roof: glide from the tower's upper platform to the outer ledge.
- Library → courtyard: step off the ledge and drop back into the courtyard loop.
- Library → burial area: exit downhill; the tombstones start below the library.
The map guide marks the burial area as downhill from the library and the mausoleum as the room with the lever and floor seam. If you are heading to the mausoleum next, do your shopping before you drop.
Common mistakes
Leaving after one conversation. The second Wourha prompt is the one that opens the archive thread.
Skipping the upper shelves. The scrolls are the burial-area tutorial. Without them, the next area is a key hunt.
Missing the back room. There is a chest and a reward back there.
Treating the library as optional. It is the first half of the shrine key chain.
Looking for a boss. There is no boss here. The library is a knowledge gate; the danger is leaving early.
